CNC Logo Engraving on 44mm Solid Hevea Worktops: Custom Production for V and B

As part of its commercial bar and shop interior fit-outs, franchise brand V and B commissioned Alcyde workshop to size, machine, and precision-engrave its official logo into a batch of 44mm thick finger-jointed solid Hevea worktops.
This project showcases our custom digital woodworking capabilities for retail designers, bar owners, and commercial interior fitters.
44mm finger-jointed Hevea: strength and stability
For busy commercial counters and high-traffic hospitality surfaces, solid Hevea (rubberwood) offers distinct advantages:
- High mechanical hardness: With an average density around 650 kg/m³, Hevea is a dense hardwood that withstands daily commercial wear and tear.
- Dimensional stability: The finger-jointed laminated construction significantly prevents cupping, bowing, and natural wood movement over time.
- 44mm substantial thickness: This heavy profile provides unyielding rigidity and an authentic, solid visual presence prized in bar and hospitality design.
- Eco-friendly resource: Hevea timber repurposes plantation trees at the end of their latex-producing cycle, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional timbers.
Precision CNC router logo engraving
To faithfully reproduce the V and B visual identity into the solid wood grain, we implemented a calibrated CNC machining workflow:
- CAM programming and toolpaths: The vector logo was processed to define sharp pocketing and contouring toolpaths with uniform cutting depth across all worktops.
- Dedicated carbide tooling: Specialized micrograin carbide engraving bits and end mills delivered crisp sidewalls and flat, clean pocket floors without fiber tear-out.
- Deburring and workshop inspection: Each worktop was thoroughly deburred, brushed, and dimensionally inspected before being wrapped and palletized for job-site delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What engraving depth is recommended for a logo on a bar or kitchen worktop?
A depth of 2 to 4 mm is typically ideal: it creates distinct, legible relief while remaining easy to wipe down and seal with protective oil or varnish.
Can any corporate logo be CNC engraved into solid wood?
Yes, provided a clean vector file is supplied (DXF, SVG, EPS, or AI). We select cutter diameters based on the finest typographic strokes and details of your design.
What are the benefits of finger-jointed Hevea for restaurant and bar counters?
Finger-jointed Hevea combines great hardness, minimal warping, and cost-effectiveness compared to prime oak, while offering an attractive, warm blond wood grain.
What are typical lead times for custom engraved wooden worktops?
Production runs of custom countertops are typically completed within 3 to 5 business days depending on order volume and timber stock availability.
